Valheim Bear Armor Guide: How to Craft, Stats, & Set Bonuses

Although the set’s lack of physical protection makes the wearer more vulnerable to physical harm, it offsets this shortcoming by boosting natural health recovery. Bear Armor Set Crafting Recipes in Valheim

First, it’s important to mention that the Bear armor set in Valheim is only currently available in the Public Test branch through the Call to Arms Update. So, the crafting materials, stats, and effects of this armor set may change when it arrives at the Stable branch. Nonetheless, below are the crafting recipes for each component of a Quality 1 Bear armor set in Valheim:

• Headdress of the Bear: 5x Bear Hide and 1x Bear Trophy
• Patterns of the Bear: 5x Bear Hide, 2x Bear Paw, and 4x Blueberries
• Loincloth of the Bear: 5x Bear Hide and 4x Blueberries

Note: The required amount for each material increases when crafting the armor set at higher quality tiers. Farm the Bear Hide, Bear Paw, and Bear Trophy by killing Bears, a new enemy type from the Call to Arms Update, in the Black Forest. Note that a 0-star Bear can drop 1x Bear Paw, 2x Bear Meat, and 4x Bear Hide. That means players must defeat at least four Bears to gather these crafting ingredients. Additionally, only one Bear spawns per Black Forest biome per day. So, it’s ideal to transfer to another Black Forest biome after defeating a Bear and gathering its loot.

Bear Armor Stats and Set Effects

Wearing all three Bear armor set pieces grants the wearer the following stats and effects:

• Armor: 21
• Weight: 11
• Set Effect: Berserk: +30% Health Regen, +15% Stamina Regen, +25% weaker vs. Blunt, Slash, & Pierce, +10% Slash, and +10% Chop

With those values, the Bear armor set in Valheim has a higher armor value than the Troll set. However, it still falls short compared to higher-tier defensive gear, including the Bronze armor set.
