What’s New in the Valheim 1.0 Update?
Deep North
The new Deep North biome is the Valheim 1.0 update’s crowning jewel. As the location’s name implies, players should be able to find this region at the northernmost reaches of the map. Here, feast your eyes on a vast, snowbound region expected to be deadlier than the existing Mountain biome. Expect to trudge through neck-deep snow and slip across frozen lakes while facing giant Gammeltrolls, ancient trolls who migrated north to become primordial giants, and the Elakingar, horned burrowers that resemble Yetis that ambush from underground tunnels, along with other threats. Other content and features Valheim players can expect from the Deep North include the following:- New dungeons called the Winding Tunnels
- New friendly creatures, like seals and moose, the latter of which can be tamed
- Spirits that provide adventurers with loot
