At its core, the Terraria 1.4.5.7 update focuses on balances and improvements with some meaningful new toys thrown into the mix. Those who wish to jump into the world of Terraria for the first time can enjoy smoother combat and fewer frustrations experienced by veteran adventurers who experienced previous patches.
With that, here’s a quick overview of some notable inclusions from this patch:
New Items & Content
Arguably, one of the biggest inclusions in Terraria 1.4.5.7 is a significant collection of new weapons and accessories. Update the client to this version to take advantage of equipment like the Daybloom Staff, Glacier Fang, and Mystic Bloom. There are also the Happy Charm, Seraph Necklace, and Phoenix Quiver, accessories that should fit well in different character builds. Gem staves also receive a major overhaul. Now, each gem gives its staff shots a unique effect. Wearing a Gem Robe also adds another layer of enhancement and increases the wearer’s damage output. Additionally, the metal crafting costs of gem staves are also reduced by about 30%. Terraria players can also gain Kinship Peaches, empowering Pals included in a previous Palworld crossover update. The last item worth mentioning is the Guide to Old World Parkour, a post-Moon Lord accessory that restores movement removed from the 1.4.5 update.Combat & Balance Changes
While crafting and survival are elements of Terraria, combat is at its heart. For instance, melee combat receives multiple notable changes, including stronger Chlorophyte weapons and faster boomerang returns. The ranged class also received some love with various ammunition adjustments, Shroomite health, and rocket self-damage numbers. As for magic users, Terraria 1.4.5.7 eliminated the cooldown when mana regenerates. Now, mana reserves immediately start recovering, even while attacking and moving. That way, you can pummel difficult bosses, like the Empress of Light, with spells without worrying about that delay. Summoners also gain new options and mechanics. In particular, whips can now be used with the Whip Stack and the appropriate accessories. Also, many whips received changes to their effects, allowing them to interact more directly with minions as compared to pre-1.4.5.7.Quality of Life (QoL) & Multiplayer Improvements
Terraria 1.4.5.7 also targets certain everyday frustrations experienced by the community. For starters, this update introduces loadout sharing, allowing players on Terraria co-op servers to share gear sets for easier equipment collaboration. Other QoL improvements include that locked chests can now be opened directly with their corresponding keys, and quest fish can be collected even when holding another copy. As for multiplayer worlds, this patch fixes various pain points, including item reservations, NPC damage handling, and player disconnects.Terraria 1.4.5.7 Patch Notes (FULL)
