Stardew Valley fans who were able to watch the recent Symphony of Seasons concert were greeted by the sweet sounds from the beloved farming and life simulator. But that's not all, as the game's creator and lead developer, Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, appeared on stage. At first, some people thought he would only say a few words of thanks. Instead, he announced that the Stardew Valley Update 1.7 is happening, and here’s what we know about it.
Currently, ConcernedApe says there’s “no release date, no estimate.” Nonetheless, the Stardew Valley developer says that Update 1.7 will happen. Additionally, Barone aims not to hinder the development of his other working title, Haunted Chocolatier, as he said in a reply.

Still, we can speculate when Barone will be able to release Stardew Valley Update 1.7 by looking at the development time and launch date of Update 1.6. In April 2023, he announced that there would be a Stardew Valley 1.6 Update. Then, Barone released this major patch on the game’s 8th anniversary, March 19, 2024. With that, perhaps Barone plans to release the Stardew Valley Update 1.7 on the game’s 10th anniversary on March 19, 2026.

New Content, Features, & Improvements
As mentioned earlier, ConcernedApe’s announcement about Stardew Valley Update 1.7 is pretty barebones. Barone didn’t mention any information about the update’s release date, or the content, features, or improvements included in it. Nonetheless, various community members want to see and experience some aspects from Update 1.7, such as the following:Livelier Spaces
Pelican Town is full of life, with villagers coming and going as they lead their lives. However, it seems that some areas in Stardew Valley don't share the same love as certain locations. So, some community members want to interact more with these lonely locations, such as the spa and train station.More to Married Life
Getting married to the love of your life in Stardew Valley lets you enjoy the wonders of in-game wedded bliss. Still, some players feel there's not much interaction with your spouse. Many players would greet their spouses in the morning, leaving to go about their ways for the rest of the day. So, it would be nice to see more interactions for married life, like seeing Shane clean his room or watching the kids grow up to become adults. Speaking of marriage, Barone confirmed in an interview with IGN that two additional marriage candidates will be added in the next update. The prayers of many Stardew Valley players have been answers, as Barone announced Clint and Sandy as the two new marriage candidates in Update 1.7. This announcement was made during the game's 10-year anniversary and retrospective video, which you can watch below:
