Rust August 2026 Wipe (Power Trip Update): Release Date, Patch Notes, Confirmed Features, & More
Posted on by justin
A month has come and gone, and that means the August sun beats down on the landscapes of Rust with its familiar forced-wipe ritual. This great reset is a digital cleansing that levels the playing field, sending players scrambling back to the beach with nothing but the bare minimum tools. So, what can you expect when servers go back online after the wipe? Keep reading to find out!
The August 2026 Rust server wipe focuses on monument interactivity and world integration. Arguably, the most significant addition is the Heavy Fuse, a new item that breathes life into the island’s infrastructure.
In particular, use the Heavy Fuse at the Power Plant, where the fuse boxes are now in the main building. Inserting Heavy Fuses restores power to the plant’s power grid. Installing more Heavy Fuses increases power output and unlocks new monument features.
As for the Oil Rig, players will be able to find a new switch in red puzzle rooms. Interacting with it enables oil pumping to the Dome, offering high production. At the Dome, crude pumps can now be connected to a vehicle tanker module, allowing you to extract Crude Oil while your vehicle is on a car lift.
Meanwhile, the Launch Site gets a satellite control panel that can trigger a satellite crash, at the cost of 10x Tech Trash. Even the Airfield gets new features, with two new computers in the main tower. One computer increases the island’s airdrop rate, while the other calls in a CH47 Chinook.
Monuments aren’t the only locations getting additional love from the Rust August 2026 Update. Existing locations will have expanded functionalities. For instance, roadside electrical poles now have 10 outputs and are climbable.
Additionally, water-producing pipes can be found near the roadside, and a water tank at the Water Treatment Plant allows players to increase water pressure by adding a gear to nearby valves. Elsewhere, Oxum's Gas Station gets a functional car lift, the Supermarket now has a freezer, and the Power Plant’s green puzzle room hides a new Red Recycler with 75% efficiency.
Beyond these additions, the update that accompanies the Rust August 2026 wipe includes various quality-of-life (QoL) improvements. For starters, high external walls and gates will help contribute to building upkeep. Also, spoiled produce now stacks up to 20, and the Apartment complex rent box will cap at 72 hours. Finally, solo players can take advantage of buying Kayaks and Paddles from the Fishing Village, rather than just the blueprint.
Other new features, changes, and improvements to take note of include the following:
Rust August 2026 Wipe Date
That's right, it's finally here! The August forced wipe for Rust landed on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
