Minecraft Dungeons is one of the best dungeon crawlers around, and with Minecraft Dungeons II just around the corner, many players seek to recreate these experiences in Minecraft itself. So
today, we explore five Minecraft modpacks that feel like Minecraft Dungeons and deliver an RPG experience that measures up!
Top 5 Minecraft Modpacks That Play Like Minecraft Dungeons
5: Arcadia [RPG]
Using a combat mod inspired by Minecraft Dungeons, PixelDreamStudios’ Arcadia RPG takes players on a three-act adventure with monsters and bosses designed to put even the most experienced Minecraft veterans to the test. Throughout the journey, unique dimensions are unlocked, each like its own vast map filled with dungeons and structures to conquer. And, just like Minecraft Dungeons, this
modpack plays great as a co-op experience with friends. The story and its grand finale don’t disappoint either.
4: Cisco’s Fantasy Medieval RPG [Ultimate]
Cisco’s Fantasy Medieval RPG by Franciscogolden overhauls the overworld to include hundreds of new dungeons to find and explore. Each is overflowing with loot, and some even have bosses as well, which grant more XP for an extensive skill tree similar to
Path of Exile’s. Multiple combat styles also exist for you to master, including melee, ranged, and two separate systems for magic. Altogether, it creates a hybrid between the three different games for an RPG experience like none other. You can even make your own kingdom!
3: DarkRPG
In Minecraft Dungeons, you are not just a player but a hero, something DarkRPG by GamerPotion makes clear as well. Upon loading into this modpack, a character creation process begins where players make several choices, including selecting an Aspect, Origin, and Class. Then, complete with a party system for friends, an MMO experience with combat like Minecraft Dungeons unfolds! Delve into dungeons and defeat bosses for loot, buy and sell on the player-run market, and level up to take on even greater challenges.
2: Prominence II: Hasturian Era
Prominence II: Hasturian Era is a story-driven action RPG that takes players to the capital of the Kingdom of Vaaz, a city filled with voiced NPCs that changes as players advance. The modpack masterfully combines dungeon-crawling progression, custom combat styles shaped by talent tree skill choices, and engaging narrative across two full campaigns. Then, once geared up, mythic bosses await those brave enough to challenge them. The resulting experience feels like its own game rather than a modpack!
1: Dungeon Heroes
At number one for modpacks like Minecraft Dungeons is none other than Dungeon Heroes by Daedelus_dev! This modpack was designed with a middle ground between Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons in mind, resulting in an experience Dungeons fans will immediately recognize. Starting in an overhauled village, players select their preferred class from eight options before following questlines that lead them to 30 dungeons and 13 bosses. Over 400 items wait to be found throughout them, including legendary armor and weapons. There is no Minecraft modpack closer to Minecraft Dungeons than this!
