From zombie outbreaks to fungal parasites, there are many horrifying ways to bring about the end of the world
thanks to mods! So, today, we count down the top five best Minecraft infection mods, perfect for frightening suspecting and unsuspecting players alike.
Top 5 Best Minecraft Infection Mods
5: Infectious - Zombie Apocalypse
Number five on our list is one of the best renditions of a classic zombie apocalypse within Minecraft, complete with over 80
zombie variants including a boss. Those hoping to survive Infectious by Zcoper will need to fight back the undead using the new weapons and traps while scavenging for supplies among newly added structures. But be warned! Not even players are immune to the bites of the infected.
4: Phayriosis Parasite Infection
Phayriosis by The_Monbox adds a slowly advancing and visually frightening parasitic infection that comes in eight distinct stages. The first few may not seem overly challenging, with basic infected wandering in groups, but if not taken seriously, it can quickly spread and advance to the point that even blocks are being infected. And should it reach the final stages, hiveminds will share information about you, the player, to all
mobs while even the rain causes anyone within to slowly decompose.
3: The Mi Alliance: Invasion!
Not every infection needs to be zombie-based! Instead, it can all begin with adorable slimes sending forth an ambassador. The Mi Alliance by Lord_blubbee is akin to an alien invasion where the slime-like species of Mi slowly build their civilization up while consuming the world. They even have their own biomes! Alone or with friends, it will take a hero to defeat the Mi and stop their relentless advance.
2: The Sculk Horde
Expanding on the already infectious sculk found in
deep dark biomes, The Sculk Horde by GRMikeatron turns it into a full-blown threat to the overworld that consumes and transforms everything, including mobs. However, do not make the mistake of thinking it mindless. At the core of the sculk horde is the Gravemind leading and controlling every transformed monster. It remembers encounters with players, adapts its strategy to fight back, and relentlessly pursues the goal of spreading sculk. Will you be among those brave enough to stand up against the infection?
1: Fungal Infection: Spore
Finally, we have Fungal Infection by The_Harbinger69, which adds an absolutely horrifying
mycelium-based bio-weapon that has broken its ancient containment, releasing infected humans across the world. They consume endlessly and evolve based on what they eat, becoming horrifying amalgamations perfectly suited to their environments, with power sometimes akin to bosses. All the while, the mycelium spreads across the world. The ultimate goal of both to resurrect the hiveminds destroyed so long ago and wipe out humanity just as it was programmed to do.
