Minecraft Dried Ghast Blocks Guide: How to Get, Locations, & more

Posted on by amber
Happy ghasts are one of the best companions a player can have but finding them can be troublesome without a helping hand. So, today, we answer how to find dried ghast blocks in Minecraft.

What Are Dried Ghasts?

Dried Ghast Block Dried ghast blocks, added in Minecraft 1.21.6, gradually grow into ghastlings and then happy ghasts after being placed within water. Once all grown up, happy ghasts can be equipped with a harness to serve as flying mounts capable of carrying up to four players. Additionally, players can dismount and stand on a happy ghast’s head, which acts as a solid platform even up in the sky. Truly, a builder’s delight!

How to Find Dried Ghast Blocks in Minecraft

Soul Sand Valley Biomes

Minecraft Dried Ghast Block Screenshot The first location where dried ghast blocks can be found is in soul sand valley biomes, exclusive to the nether. There, dried ghast blocks will occasionally be next to nether fossil structures. The dried ghast block itself looks like a little grey skull and is pretty small, so be sure to keep an eye out. Those that play on servers, however, may need to travel soul sand valley biomes further from spawn if the ones nearby have already been looted.

Piglin Bartering

Minecraft Piglin Bartering Screenshot An alternative way to obtain a dried ghast block is by bartering with piglins. To barter with a piglin, simply equip one piece of gold armor and then toss them a gold ingot. Each time the piglin picks up the gold ingot and pockets it, there is a small 2.13% chance that a dried ghast block will be the item they give in return.

Crafting

First, place the one soul sand block in the middle of the crafting table, and then fill the remaining eight slots with ghast tears. This recipe will provide one dried ghast block.
