Surrounded by a coral reef on nearly all sides, this coastal badlands offers a perfect example of Minecraft world generation at its best. However, there is one spot in particular that truly stands out from the rest. On its eastern side is the island, hugged by a river, seen in the image above. A base built there would have its own coral-filled harbor with mountains of terracotta on all other sides. Just looking at it is calling forth build ideas to try!

Crater Lake

A lakeside getaway isn’t typically the first thought that goes along with badlands, but this seed strives to change that with a crater-like lake nestled in the otherwise desolate wastes. Those who choose to settle here will find colorful terracotta in every direction they look and an abundance of room for nearly every type of build. However, it is hard not to envision an oasis.

Eroded Spawn

Standing like the remnants of buildings from a long-lost civilization, these terracotta pillars are an exclusive feature of the rare badlands variant, eroded badlands. Normally, they would be hard to find, but with this seed, one need not go further than spawn. Additionally, if playing on Java Edition, the spawn is inside an exposed abandoned mineshaft with a desert temple right behind.

The Grandest Canyon

Minecraft spawns can be odd, but few are as imposing as this! Anyone entering the game using this seed will find themselves at the very bottom of an immensely deep crater with terracotta mountains that reach the sky on all sides. It’s the perfect spot for a challenging start or building a base, assuming anyone manages to survive the first night. Once out, however, the sight gives even the Grand Canyon a run for its money.

Forest Sinkhole

Located a short distance from spawn, this forested badlands hides an immense flooded sinkhole that would already be a stunning sight. Yet, at its middle sits a massive open-air cavern leading to a lake of lava even farther below.
