The mace has the potential to shake up PvE and PvP, but its enchantments are often key. So, today, we explore two main enchantments maces can have in our guide, “Minecraft 1.21 Density Vs Breach.”

Density

Minecraft 1.21 Mace Density increases the damage per block fallen when attacking with the mace from above. Specifically, it is a 0.5 damage increase for each level (maximum five) of the density enchantment per block fallen. 0.5 damage is 1/4 of a heart.

Breach

Minecraft 1.21 Netherite Chest Breach reduces the effectiveness of armor when defending against the enchanted mace’s attacks. Specifically, it is a 15% reduction in effectiveness for each level of breach up to a maximum of level four, or 60%.

Minecraft 1.21 Density Vs Breach

Minecraft 1.21 Density Vs Breach Screenshot Density is stronger than the breach enchantment. Using a villager wearing a set of netherite armor enchanted with protection four as the method for testing, it takes someone wielding a mace enchanted with density five only a nine-block fall to kill the villager. Meanwhile, a mace enchanted with breach four requires an 18 block fall to do the same. However, this assumes the density enchanted mace is being used accurately alongside wind charges or the wind burst enchantment. If jump attacks are not being attempted or landed, density becomes the same as having no enchantment at all.

Minecraft 1.21 Density vs Breach in Bedrock Edition

Density Mace Falling Screenshot Players in Bedrock Edition will find breach to be a much more viable option, especially in PVP. This is due to Bedrock Edition not having attack cooldowns, which allows the mace to be spammed. As a result, a mace with breach four does more damage per second than a sharpness five netherite sword when fighting players with diamond armor and above.

In Conclusion

Overall, density remains the stronger enchantment but relies on a welder capable of using its unique fighting style and an environment that allows for attacks from the sky. The only exception to this is in Bedrock Edition, where players may want to consider a breach enchanted mace for PvP since that is where breach can truly shine. Until Next Time, BisectHosting =)
