Hytale boasts a wide-open procedural world to explore, even in its early access state. Unlike its contemporary Minecraft, the world of Hytale is tinged with a magical vibe. Its creatures, armors, and weapons all feel inspired by classic tales of fantasy dungeon crawling. If you're after one of the game's few truly magical weapons, you'll need to hunt down some Sapphire. Take a look below, and we'll show you exactly where to get it.
Luckily, finding Sapphire is easy. All you have to do is scour the world until you come across some Devastated Lands. These enormous biomes are hard to miss if you're exploring with your map. Large swathes of volcanic rock and magma mean you're in the right place.
To find Sapphire, scroll with your map over a chunk of Devastated Lands until you find a small glob of gold like in the image above. That golden chunk is a handful of golden blocks with some gems guaranteed to appear. You might have to check a few piles until you find Sapphire, or you might get lucky and find a gold pile that has nothing but Sapphire. Of course, you only need a single Sapphire if you're aiming to create a magical weapon.
At the time of writing, there is only one recipe in all of Hytale that requires Sapphire: the Ice Crystal Staff. This is a unique weapon that can hurl chunks of ice toward pesky enemies. To craft it, you'll first need to make sure you have an Arcanist's Workbench.
Here are the recipes for both an Arcanist's Workbench and an Ice Crystal Staff:
