Hytale Goldenwood Farming Guide: Locations, How to Get, & Crafting Recipes
Posted on by cade-davie
The lands of Hytale are covered in trees, and you need to use heaps of them to build your own base, tools, and furnishings. However, some trees are much harder to find than others. If you're wondering how to get Goldenwood in Hytale, you're in the right place. We have all the info you need below, including what tree it comes from and where that elusive tree takes root.
Most trees and wood types are fairly easy to come across in Hytale. However, that isn't the case for Goldenwood and the tree that creates it: Sallow Trees. These trees are exceptionally rare and only spawn in a single environment. You need to head to a Devastated Lands biome if you want to be lucky enough to spot a Sallow Tree.
If you're ever hunting for a biome in Hytale, always refer to your map. It makes navigating and finding specific areas or even spawns much easier. Devastated Lands are easy enough to find with their magma and dark rock, but Sallow Trees only spawn within a rarer slab of land on these biomes. You need to keep an eye out for land that is covered in a sickly green/yellow shade. If you're lucky, you'll also be able to spot a large yellowish blob in the middle of this land, like the image above. This is a Sallow Tree.
Once you've found a Sallow Tree, make sure you harvest it using a hatchet. Axes cannot cut down trees in Hytale. Smack away at the tree, and you'll be rewarded with Goldenwood Logs. Since these trees are so rare and difficult to find, make sure you collect every scrap of the Sallow Tree that you can.
Despite its incredible rarity, there aren't too many uses for Goldenwood in Hytale. The most important use, of course, is gathering enough Goldenwood Logs to upgrade your Farmer's Workbench to Tier 8.
This is everything you'll need for the Farmer's Workbench Tier 8 upgrade:
