Rejoice, Flameborn! It's been a long time coming, but Enshrouded 1.0 is almost here! According to Keen Games, the developers, the open-world fantasy adventure is nearing feature-complete release. It's so close, in fact, that we have an official release date! Take a look below to see when you and your friends can hop into the fully-realized world of Enshrouded 1.0, as well as some info on what new features and platforms await!
The game started its early access journey on January 24, 2024. Now, more than two years later, Enshrouded 1.0 will arrive on October 15, 2026!
On this day, the game will launch into its completed state on PC via Steam and the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, the game has been delayed on Xbox Series X|S consoles. According to the development team, the Xbox version of the game will arrive at some point in spring of 2027.
Whether or not there will be crossplay between consoles and PC is still unconfirmed. The developers have stated in the past that crossplay is a goal, but the announcement of 1.0's release date has not included any concrete details on its status.
Based on the studio's roadmap, the Enshrouded 1.0 update will include combat improvements (defined as greater tactical depth, smarter enemy behavior, better balance, and enemy variety), general gameplay optimization, quality-of-life changes (defined as improved new player experience and better quest progression), adventure sharing V2, and plenty more.
Based on the game's past updates, we can also guess that other new content will arrive in a few ways. Potentially, some new weapons, armor, enemies, craftables, and more of the goodies that make Enshrouded the enjoyable survival-crafting adventure that it is. In the reveal trailer for 1.0, there also seems to be some type of enormous floating island. Accompanied by the tagline, "Reach for the skies," it seems that update 1.0 might at minimum add a new explorable region that is positioned high in the skies above Embervale.
Unfortunately, we won't have the specifics of what's making the cut until "later this summer". Until that time, we'll just have to wait and see what the future of Enshrouded has in store. Coming off of the massive Update 8, however, expectations are rightfully high for the game's 1.0 launch!
