All Sulfur Cube Blocks: Properties, Interactions, & More

Posted on by amber
Sulfur cubes have enabled the creation of countless new player-made minigames, but it can be hard to keep track of which absorbed block does which when brainstorming new ways to use them. So, today, we explore all the sulfur cube blocks and special archetypes alongside the properties they apply.

Sulfur Slime Overview

Minecraft Sulfur Cube
  • Health: 8 Hearts
  • Behavior: Passive
  • Favored Foods: Slime Balls
Exclusive to the Sulfur Caves biome, sulfur cubes are a passive slime mob that share much of their behavior with their slime and magma cube cousins, minus the hostile nature. This includes breaking up into smaller slimes if damaged sufficiently, but only if they do not have a block inside. The smaller sulfur cubes will grow into adults and can be picked up in buckets for transport, like with axolotls and various kinds of fish. Sulfur cubes also have the unique ability to absorb a single block a player gives them, visibly altering their appearance and placing the slime in an unmoving, damage-immune state where players can hit them around. This state imitates the physics of various types of balls, depending on the block that has been absorbed.
